Packaging and Transportation Tests Laboratory
The Packaging and Transportation Tests Laboratory has infrastructure for testing of radioactive materials transportation packaging. The technicians have experience in packaging trials for radiopharmaceuticals or radioisotopes for nuclear techniques applications, packaging for low-level radiation waste and in the development of packaging for fuel from research reactors. The main facilities are platforms for free fall test equipped with mechanism for load release, weights for stacking tests and assemblies for penetration testing and waterjet and pressure tank for immersion in water test. Compression test on packaging for waste. Free-fall test of 1.2m.
