The Lightning Arresters and Smoke Detectors Dismantle Laboratory is destined to the treatment of lightning arresters and radioactive smoke detectors, aiming to minimize the volume of waste to be stored. The high radio-toxicity of the radionuclide present in these devices, for its handling requires a special installation. This Laboratory meets all safety and radioprotection requirements and received the Approval Certificate of Installation Safety Analysis Report issued by the CNEN Directorate of Radioprotection and Nuclear Safety of CNEN.
